(5/7/2012) On May 19, 2012, a host of performers and dignitaries will take part in the 20th Anniversary Life Ball Gala at City Hall in Vienna Austria. An estimated 40,000 visitors will attend and millions will watch the live broadcast of Life Ball, Europe’s largest charity event supporting people with HIV or AIDS. This year’s speakers and performers include; President Bill Clinton, United Nations UNAIDS / Executive Director Michel Sidibé, actresses Milla Jovovich and Melanie Griffith, and poet Maya Angelou. Live performances will take place by Scissor Sisters, Gloria Estefan, and Cheyenne Jackson.

These images and more will be the focus of the third New York edition of the London-based Fashion in Film Festival to take place at Museum of the Moving Image from today, May 4 through May 13, 2012. Titled If Looks Could Kill, the Festival explores the compelling links between cinema, television, fashion, crime, and violence.

Pacific Symphony League Presents Event of Art, Music, Fashion and Dining, 6/11

(4/27/2012) An afternoon of music, art and fashion comes to Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach when Pacific Symphony’s prized support group, the Pacific Symphony League, hosts a fund-raising luncheon to benefit music education programs. Chaired by League member Gwen Williams—fashion entrepreneur, performer and art collector—the luncheon features renowned Beverly Hills designer Ricco Antonio showcasing his latest custom-designed dresses and evening gowns in a fashion show, with music by vocalist and digital keyboard player Jim Roberts. The setting is embellished with original artwork by celebrity artist Pilar Wayne and music by the Laguna Flutes, led by the Symphony’s own flute and piccolo player, Cynthia Ellis, which provide an eclectic, jazzy and fresh mix of flute arrangements.
