Target to Expand Beauty Concierge Program in Chicago Area

Building off its “Expect More. Pay Less.” brand promise, Target announced that it will expand its Beauty Concierge program to 41 Chicagoland stores on May 24. The Target Beauty Concierge originally launched in 28 stores in the Chicago area in July 2012 and its success spurred the program's growth. (more...)

Take Your Vegas Winnings to the New Nicholas Kirkwood Boutique

British designer Nicholas Kirkwood opened his second U.S. store last week at Las Vegas' Wynn hotel. He also revamped his Web site and launched his e-commerce. TV host and fashion stylist Louise Roe is known for her sartorial choices on and off the red carpet. The 2013 amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala red carpet was no exception for Roe who made quite the statement when she arrived on wearing a stunning gown from Randa Salamoun. I am not suprised she commanded the attention of the cameras in the sleeveless sheath with a bold printed pattern. I also love the color combination of red and purple. It's unexpected and very regal. The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco announced The Art of Bulgari: La Dolce Vita & Beyond, 1950 - 1990, an exhibition of approximately 150 pieces created by the renowned Italian jeweler over four decades. This exclusive exhibition will highlight jewelry that defined a pivotal period in Italian design, and will include many pieces from the personal collection of Elizabeth Taylor. The Art of Bulgari: La Dolce Vita & Beyond, 1950 1990 will be on display at the de Young Museum from September 21, 2013 through February 17, 2014. (more...)

Bluefly Sells 90% of Outstanding Shares to Clearlake Capital Purchases

Bluefly, Inc., a leading online retailer of fashion forward designer brands at superior value, announced that an affiliate of Clearlake Capital Group (“Clearlake”) has purchased approximately 89% of the outstanding shares of Bluefly Inc. directly from the Company's principal stockholders. Clearlake also entered into an agreement with the Company under which it purchased additional shares from the Company that, together with the shares acquired from the Company's principal stockholders, represent in excess of 90% of the outstanding shares of Bluefly. Pursuant to the same agreement, Clearlake agreed to acquire the remaining outstanding shares of common stock of the Company through a short form merger at a price of $0.10 per share. The Company expects to consummate the merger as soon as possible following the issuance of the shares, and in any event within one business day. The Company also expects that its shares will cease trading on the NASDAQ Capital Market effective prior to the open of market on May 24, 2013. (more...)

Stella McCartney and L'Oréal 'have made the mutual decision not to renew their license agreement after the contract ends on Sept. 12, 2013,' the L'Oreal confirmed Tuesday. Target Donates $250,000 for Oklahoma Tornado Relief

Target Corp. announced it will donate $250,000 in monetary support and merchandise to assist with tornado relief efforts in Moore, Okla. The donation includes $150,000 in cash and in-kind donations to the American Red Cross, $30,000 in a cash donation to the Salvation Army and $20,000 in product donations for other community needs such as water and other rescue and recovery supplies. Target will also donate $50,000 to Plaza Tower and Briarwood Elementary Schools to aid in recovery efforts. (more...)
