Zac Posen Launches New Contemporary Line

Zac Posen is all over these days with his dresses all over the red carpet for awards season, showing up on our TV every week as a judge on Project Runway and offering his gowns to The Face. But today his name appears in the news for other reasons: he's launching Zac Zac Posen. Zac Zac Posen is contemporary line of "dressed-up looks" with prices around $500.

Unlike the Z Spoke line, the Zac Zac Posen isn't constrained by the under-$200 price point. The designer told WWD, "In building into such strict price requirements for Z Spoke, we started to learn that with a slightly higher price point, you can get a lot more out of the product. You can get a level of fabric quality that's a lot nicer, and it enables it to expand into evening."

The new Zac Zac Posen line is meant to compete with the likes of M Missoni, Tory Burch and Red Valention. Look for the pre-fall line in Neiman Marcus, Saks, Intermix, Scoop, and Harvey Nichols.
