Turquoise Jewelry Having a Moment

SilverTribe.com is reporting that turquoise jewelry is taking center stage and finding a younger crowd during a fall fashion season that is embracing Southwestern flair.

Singer-songwriter Rudy Parris took to the stage on NBC's "The Voice" clad in a Navajo-style squash blossom necklace and sporting turquoise rings on each hand.

"I think turquoise and silver are finding a much younger fan base, and we've been seeing a lot of celebrities and fashion enthusiasts take a traditional style and incorporate it in an edgy and daring way," said Chris Anderson with the online Southwest jewelry retailer SilverTribe. "I think it's great that such traditional fashion can find new life in a younger generation."

Over the summer, turquoise jewelry styles became popular due to the breezy sky blue color and the statement is carrying over into fall fashion with celebrities and models alike finding new and creative ways to make turquoise jewelry work with modern, edgy fashions, suitable for rockstars and aspiring performers alike.

"My prediction is that we'll see a lot of Native American influenced jewelry throughout the fall, especially when more people see their favorite celebrities in popular turquoise styles," Anderson said. "This style of jewelry leaves so much room to show creativity and individuality."

This fall, Anderson expects to see Native American jewelry styles on display on the runway as well as on the stage.
