The battle is over! Yves Saint Laurent has dropped it's lawsuit against Christian Loutoutin. WWD reported that the YSL team are content with the most recent court decision which allows YSL to make monochromatic red shoes (both shoe and sole red) but it still gave Christian Louboutin their trademark protection on the red sole alone.
David Bernstein, YSL's attorney, told WWD, "Now that the Court of Appeals has definitively ruled for Yves Saint Laurent and has dismissed Christian Louboutin’s claims, Yves Saint Laurent has decided to end what was left of the litigation and refocus its energies on its business and its creative designs."
