There's magic in the air at New Look as they unveil another inspired trend.

One of their latest collections for Autumn and Winter is a collection that takes its cue from the magical realism seen floating down catwalks, combining them with a harder and tougher edge to create a look that mixes the fairy tale with the gothic and romantic for what is a wardrobe of spellbinding fashion.

New Look fans can expect to see a continuation of floral patterns on dresses and tops, but in deeper, darker hues for an altogether moodier effect. Florals come via dark, dramatic colours and fabrics are adorned with studs, spikes and leathers, and teamed with distressed denim. There is also a strong focus on high shine metallics and sheer fabrics, with a little fairy tale lace threaded throughout to add femininity. However, this femininity is countered and complemented beautifully with graphic tees, oversized knits over skinny jeans and creepers that keep hold of this collection's masculine influences and inject a punk edge to outfits.

There will also be a mix of prints, from scarlet dog-tooth, black and white hounds-tooth and metallic leopard print to keep outfits textured and creatively clashing. Cross motifs are huge feature for the season, perfect for adding a gothic feel. Make way too for exposed zips, leather jacketstarnished chains and cutwork that keep those grunge references live and kicking in their boots; essential for finishing the outfit.

New Look's collection of women's shoes offer studded and buckled leather boots, which touch up the look with grunge-goth chic. Look out for tartan check platforms, buckled biker boots and studded mesh sandals that perfect the punk look.
