Cosmetics brand Stila, known for it's lip and cheeks stains and whimsical packaging, announced it's expanding into skincare. The brand has made a couple of skin products in the past, including a Beauty Balm, but this is their first official skincare line.

The six piece skincare system is made up of the essentials: face wash, toner, moisturizer, cleansing wipes, brightening serum, and facial scrub. It is all aimed at creating the perfect canvas for their makeup.

Stila's global creative director, Sarah Lucero, commented, "We decided to launch the skincare line because we really wanted our customers to have great, prepped skin to apply makeup, and the time was right for us to deliver that. We're known as a makeup brand, and our focus is on providing products that are really needed, that perfect the skin, and which give you a really good base. We were also waiting until the right technology and ingredients came along."

The ingredients include essential oils like geranium, orange, and peppermint oils, as well as extracts from the Swiss Alpine Rose, a flower that mimics the skin's stem cell function responsible for renewing and repairing cells and tissue.

Each product is labeled with a fun and functional name, keeping with Stila's brand and packaged in the same silver tubes as the makeup. "It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that other skincare brands do. I wouldn't say it's basic, because that's not what it is, but they are necessity products, and the quality speaks for itself," Lucero continues of the no-fuss, easy-to-navigate lineup.
