On Wednesday, April 17, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation will host its annual Hot Pink Party at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. This year's event, themed ¡Viva Fiesta!, will feature a performance by Multi-Grammy Award-winning artist Sir Elton John. The always sold-out affair will pay special tribute to Kay Krill, President and CEO of ANN INC., as she receives BCRF's Sandra Taub Humanitarian Award, presented by award-winning actress and ambassador of Ann Taylor's spring and summer 2013 campaigns, Kate Hudson. Joining the evening's festivities will be actress and supermodel Elizabeth Hurley, as well as co-chairs Donna Karan, Michael Kors, William Lauder, and Vera Wang, among others. The Foundation hopes to top last year's record-setting goal of more than $5 million in funds raised to support life-saving breast cancer research.
"The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is thrilled to have Kate Hudson join us as we recognize Kay Krill and ANN INC. for their passion for women's issues and commitment to our organization. As a result of their contributions and the money raised through The Hot Pink Party, BCRF is able to continue its mission to fund vital breast cancer research," said Myra Biblowit, President, BCRF. She added, "With the support of Sir Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley, who bring this special event to life, we hope that this year's Hot Pink Party will be our best yet."
During the course of the evening, dedicated and longtime BCRF donor, Judith Schlager, will be presented the Roz and Les Goldstein Unsung Hero Award. Ms. Schlager, a breast cancer survivor, will receive the 2013 award in recognition of her work of helping others cope with a breast cancer diagnosis. Schlager has also played a pivotal role in BCRF's goal to broaden its national reach and she will receive the Honor from Sandra Krakoff, a fellow member of BCRF's Advisory Board.
