Metroplex Fashion Landmark Terry Costa announced the winner of their 3rd Annual Teen Board Homecoming Fashion Show and Catwalk Competition: Sergio Armas. Mr. Armas is a Senior at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas.
The contestants’ designs were evaluated based on a popular vote on Facebook, in-store secret ballots, and the votes of a panel of industry judges. Armas entered a sweetheart bodice ballgown with peplum- when the main skirt was removed it became a minidress for a different look.
As part of his prize, Sergio will spend a day with celebrity prom dress designer Tony Bowls. The winner will also spend a day with the Terry Costa Buyers at the Dallas Apparel Market and will also receive a $1,000 scholarship courtesy of Terry Costa.
"This is a wonderful prize for an emerging student designer," said 2011 Winner Lauren Perdue. "The experience and shadowing opportunities are invaluable for making industry contacts, and the scholarship helps defray the cost of an already expensive major".
Located in Dallas at the southwest corner of Preston and 635, Terry Costa has been dressing the women of Dallas-Fort Worth for 26 years. Open 7 days a week, Terry Costa carries everything from Quincenera dresses to pageant gowns, bridal to prom.
