The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) banned a Christian Dior mascara ad featuring Oscar winner Natalie Portman. The complaint filed accused the Dior Show New Look Mascara of airbrushing the ad to exaggerate the advertised effects of the "multi-dimensional volume and treatment mascara."
The $28.50 mascara "thickens, separates and extends the lashes for an infinitely multiple lash effect" but online reviews result in mixed results. Some customers love the product, while others feel it's "a huge disappointment," "terrible" and "clumpy."
Dior has agreed to withdraw the ad without enduring a formal investigation.
