Monique Lhuillier has finally debuted her first Manhattan store on the Upper East Side at 71st and Madison. The two-story townhouse includes a bridal salon on the second floor and houses all of the designer's collections: ready-to-wear, shoes, tabletop, and chandeliers.
Lhuillier also wants to expand the success of her ready-to-wear. She told to WWD: "The customer gets married once in her life. I want her to think of Monique Lhuillier multiple times a year, to come in if she just wants something special."
That is not to imply that her bridal collection won't be a huge focus. Lhuillier mentioned that within the second day of opening, the bridal salon was completely booked with 43 appointments. She adds, "We feel like this is a good time for us to be here."
