Karelle Levy's QUICKIE COUTURE Set for Charles Bank Gallery Today, 12/16

FLATT Magazine presents a holiday event featuring performance artists Karelle Levy and Eric Starosielski at the Charles Bank Gallery today, Sunday, December 16th, between 1pm - 8pm.

Quickie Couture, Karelle Levy will create on the spot custom knits for men, women, kids, and pets! Starting at $20. Eric Starosielski will engage you in his Thermal Comfort Device, as seen at Barneys. Cocktails, treats, music by DJ Hannah Lacava, Saxophonist Noah Becker, and surprise guests.

Karelle fits her fabrics to the client's specifications within the hour or less. The entire process is then captured on Polaroid and added to the KREL-2-GO album. A moment captured on a personal and now rare medium. These tongue-in-cheek 'Quickies' are fun with the performance becoming a shared experience and something quite special.

The on-going documentation is now into the 3rd album. Karelle has fitted and collected the images of over 1,000 custom made on the spot pieces. This series of instant portraits are intimate vignettes of Karelle's clients, friends and fellow artists. All of who are modeling their own piece of wearable artwork ready to go.

'KREL 2 go' has 'Popped up' around the world. As Karelle takes her practice to art fairs,
Capital Cities and personal places.

Karelle brings fast and sexy fashion into the gallery space, a performance where the designer as artist, fits and knits then documents the sitter wearing the piece. An exchange takes place, be it a stranger or a dear friend a certain bond has formed.

The photographic albums are an archive of that connectivity. Row upon row of neatly arranged Polaroid images, many light faded and slightly washed out. Here we have the fleeting nature of time as our collective memory dissolves and loses luster.
