J Brand's new investor, Fast Retailing, plans to help the brand expand with into "other fashion capitals," according to WWD. First up is a LA flagship store set to open next year, followed by menswear and then handbags and shoes.
Fast Retailing, parent company to both Uniqlo and Theory, has been trying to establish a major West Coast presence. J Brand's strong LA base is a big plus for the company. But their new relationship is mutually beneficial.
J Brand's CEO Jeff Rudes further hints that the relationship could develop into J Brand denim for Uniqlo. Rudes told WWD that, "As a good partner, our resources are available. And being that we have different price points, it would not conflict or hurt either to be able to share certain resources."
That would be amazing!
