How much can one creator, writer, star and executive producer take on? Lena Dunham, recent Golden Globe Award winner for HBO's GIRLS, wants to find out! Deadline reports that the actress will join forces with her 'Girls' co-star Jenni Konner to develop a new series, 'All Dressed Up And Everywhere To Go' for the HBO cable network.
Set in New York, the story will be based on the memoir of "long-time Bergdorf Goodman personal shopper and New York institution Betty Halbreich." The project will give an in depth look into the life of Halbreich who has made her career out of dressing the rich and famous.
Still going strong at age 85, Halbreich can still works at her Bergdorf-based personal shopping service, which she began in 1976. According to the report, she has dressed such socialites and stars as Joan Rivers, Meryl Streep, Sarah Jessica Parker, Katie Couric and Glenn Close.
In addition, she has frequently consulted with top Manhattan stylists as well as movie and TV shows and has offered advice on everything from "designing the signature look for HBO's Sex And The City to capturing the New York Style of the early Woody Allen films."
The Chicago native has been described as "part Angela Lansbury and part Lucille Ball." Her memoir will give a "glimpse into the world of high fashion, as well as inspiration for women from all backgrounds."
