Fashion Photo of the Day 1/31/13 - Kate Mara

Kate Mara looked like a Charlotte York in training at the premiere of her new Netflix series House of Cards last night at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall. I adore her demure and chic look that still had a touch of sex appeal. Leave it to Dolce & Gabbana to add a sexy twist to a 3/4 length sleeve, knee length dress.

Here's what I love about the metallic lace D&G creation: it's metallic! That in and of itself elevates it from another pretty lace dress to something new and special. Add on the sheer panels on the hemline and sleeves with the white lace and you have the unexpected twist that makes this dress exciting. Not to mention, Mara is gorgous, her makeup flawless and her Brian Atwood shoes with Judith Leiber clutch make the perfect accessories. Looks like Rooney Mara is not the only fashionista in the family!
