Chenese Lewis Hosts First Plus Fashion Show During LA Fashion Week

Chenese Lewis will host the first ever plus size fashion show during LA Fashion Week on Saturday, October 13, 2012. HAUTE Curves, LA Fashion Week, presented by Elite Curves International (ECI), will showcase independent designers that cater to sizes 12 and above. In addition to being a ground breaking event ECI also has a charitable aspect by partnering with Michelle's Place, a local charity which provides emotional and educational support to those touched with breast cancer and facilitate breast health care services.

Chenese Lewis made history by being the first woman crowned Miss Plus America in 2003 and is the Ambassador of the Binge Eating Disorder Association (BEDA). She served as the Immediate Past President of the Hollywood Chapter of the National Organization for Women and is the creator of the 2010 Love Your Body Campaign, where she posed nude with America's Next Top Model, Whitney Thompson, which garnered international media buzz.

"HAUTE Curves purpose is to project an image to the mainstream market that curvaceous women are just as beautiful, attractive and capable in the mainstream fashion and modeling world over a size 2, or even over a size 16. This fashion show is doing something that has never been done before, which makes this event and the impact it will have truly ground breaking." said Chenese Lewis, HAUTE Curves LA Fashion Week host.
