Burlington Coat Factory Opens Flagship in Union Square

The national off-price retailer, Burlington Coat Factory, officially opened its new 92,000 square foot flagship location in the heart of New York City's Union Square. Burlington celebrated the Grand Opening with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony attended by New York City Assistant Commissioner for Capitol Access and Business Services, Colleen Galvin and Burlington's President and CEO,Thomas Kingsbury.

In addition to the ribbon cutting festivities and to showcase their commitment to the community, Burlington donated new merchandise to local philanthropic agencies. This was done through the Burlington Gives Back program which is a national partnership with the New York-based non-profit organization, Fashion Delivers. Donated merchandise will benefit local New York City charities such as, but not limited to, Latinos Against Domestic Violence, Women's Second Start, Safe Horizon, Federation of Protestant Agencies, the Lower East Side Service Center and the Bowery Residents Committee.

The new flagship, at 14^th Street and University Place, is the retailer's sixth city location and will employ 500 area residents. The store will be open from 9am-10pm Monday through Saturday and 10am-8pm on Sundays to provide New Yorkers and visitors to the city with a vast selection of fresh new merchandise for the family and home at up to 65% off department store prices every day.
