Brillare Hairdressing Academy Student Awarded Second Place in International Sassoon Cut and Color Contest

Brillare Hairdressing Academy announced that student Taylor DeBartolo was awarded second place in the annual international Sassoon Academy l School Connection (SASC) Cut and Color Contest. Both the stylist and the hair model for the award-winning entry are Brillare Hairdressing Academy students.

The first, second and third place winners were announced by Sassoon Academy and industry partner, Nuts and Bolts Training Company at the 2013 International Salon and Spa Expo in Long Beach, California. DeBartolo was awarded more than $2,500 in prizes including a five-day training course at the Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica, California.

"This is an exceptional accomplishment for Brillare in our first full year as a Sasson Academy l School Connection, and Taylor was a Phase One student when this entry was submitted," said Christa Jones, CEO of Brillare Hairdressing Academy. "We are all so proud of Taylor!"

"This has been so exciting! I really love cutting hair and I couldn't have done it without the encouragement of my instructor, Dana Fraze," said Taylor DeBartolo, Brillare Hairdressing Academy student. "I know this is just the beginning of an amazing career in the beauty industry."

"Our students and instructors have embraced the Sassoon methods, and it's rewarding to see Brillare students creating award-worthy work," continued Jones. "We're truly honored to be recognized by the world-renowned creative team at Sassoon Academy."

To gain entry, more than 100 cosmetology students from schools across the U.S., Canada and Australia submitted before and after photos of their best work to the Sassoon Academy Creative Team. The top 10 finalists who met the strict Sassoon standards were announced in December 2012.
