Matthu Placek arrived in New York City in 1997 to study at the School of Visual Arts. Matthu focuses his interests in the performing and fine arts while working with such publications as The New York Times, The New Yorker, Visionaire, V Magazine, & Vogue. Among others, he has photographed and/or collaborated with Marina Abramovic, Vanessa Beecroft, Brice Marden, Cindy Sherman, Marc Jacobs and James Ivory. Matthu Placek lives and works in New York City.

A Voice Lesson with Vocal-Coach-to-the-Stars, Barbara Maier

Barbara Maier, voice teacher to some of New York's most exciting singers, is offering a private voice lesson to the highest bidder.

Maier, a performer in her own right, numbers Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Debbie Harry, Tony nominee Justin Bond, internationally famous Diamanda Galas, jazz singer Roseanna Vitro, Murray Hill, Lady Rizzo, Meow Meow as well as many Broadway performers as her students.

On Broadway she was vocal coach for the Tony nominated musical Passing Strange as well as the Polish import, Metro. Off-Broadway she has coached the casts of Fringe Festival shows, at La Mamma and Dixon Place. Her knowledge of vocal health has led her to be recommended by some of the leading laryngologists in the city. In addition, she has produced and directed shows at Joe's Pub and was an associate producer of Weimar New York. She recently added coaching public speakers to her busy schedule.
