Art Director Turned Mumpreneur Revamps Children's Boutique

When Maria Gore took over the reins of online children's boutique, Shop For Tots, she was armed with an action plan to ensure that she can successfully juggle her duties both as mum of four and as owner of a vibrant business.

She recently introduced new brands to the shop's current collection of products for newborn and children, one of her first projects as the new owner. "Introducing new brands to the online store lets us provide several benefits to customers in one move," says the former art director. "It provides shoppers more options for their gift shopping; it boosts the energy and excitement in our online community; and I get to inject my personality in the business, so that customers can get to know me better as we all work together in raising happier, healthier and more fabulous kids."

This multi-tasking approach isn't new to Maria-or to her fellow mums everywhere. "My goal is to live up to the shop's reputation for great service and great value for money. Running a business isn't a picnic, and taking care of my kids who are aged 8, 5, 3 and 1 is also a full-time job. But it can be done, as shown by several successful women business leaders."

Maria happily reports that the new brands and new look are being received well by Shop For Tots customers.
