Andrew Gn used an old issue of Life magazine he found at a Paris flea market, that documented Elizabeth II's 1961 visit to India, as inspiration for his 2013 Spring collection. The 1960's silhouette is very prominent in his designs, and often his looks almost feel from the era entirely.
Gn used a delicate hand when referencing his inspirations. WWD reported Gn commenting backstage, "Its not full-on India. I also made a stopover in Japan." There are origamilike folds on bicolored shift dresses silk, keeping to his mantra this season: "Simple, but not plain."
